Jan Ladislav Dusík (1760 - 1812) is an important representative of Czech musical emigration at the turn of the 18th and 19th century in England and France. 

His father was a composer and organist from whom he received his first musical instruction.  Following more formal studies he travelled widely throughout Europe and was applauded for his technical prowess.

He was prolific as a composer leaving some 35 sonatas for piano, 65 violin sonatas, works for harp and a small number of vocal works.
