These five brief piano pieces have been taken from Rossini's little-known “Péchés de vieillesse” (Sins of Old Age).  This collection, unpublished during Rossini's lifetime, was written during the final decade of his life, starting in 1857.  Among Rossini admirers the “Péchés” are something of an insider's tip: presented here are selected pianistic showpieces bursting with wit and parody.
