Francisco Tárrega (1852 – 1909) was a Spanish composer and classical guitarist, remembered for such pieces as Recuerdos de la Alhambra. 

Often called the father of classical guitar he is generally considered one of the greatest guitarists of all time.

Recuerdos de la Alhambra, or Memories of the Alhambra, is one of the most famous pieces of Spanish composer Francisco Tarrega and of the guitar repertoire in general.  Originally a tremolo etude, it has won the hearts of listeners all over the world and its popularity in the Czech Republic is confirmed by its multiple editions since 1962.
