Jirmal Joy of Bossa Nova for Guitar

Jiří Jirmal (1925 – 2019) was a Czech jazz and classical guitarist.  Born in Prague he became a highly respected performer, teacher and composer of guitar and was a professor at the Conservatoire in Prague.  Some of his compositions incorporate elements of Brazilian music such as Bossa Nova and Samba.

In the Guitar Solos series, we publish two new works by our leading guitar pedagogue.  The two dance stylisations are aimed more towards popular music and are intended for more advanced guitarists.
