Johann Christoph Bach (1642-1703), uncle of Johann Sebastian Bach, worked in Eisenach from 1665 to 1703 as a widely recognized organist.

The 44 easy chorale preludes give a living testimony to the art of improvisation at the time. The exemplary short preludes, each based on the same composition scheme, are notated in the keys of the EKG and are therefore ideal for Sunday practice.
