Handel Concerto for Organ in B-flat major Op.7/1 (HWV 306) (Full Score)

The Concerto in B-flat major HWV 306 is without doubt the most important in the collection of six organ concertos published by Walsh in 1761, two years after Handel’s death.  Not only the exceptional length of the first movement and its form as a two-part Passacaglia, but also the fact that the concerto is the only one which expressly requires a pedal board, give the work a special position.

HWV 306 was finished on 17th February 1740 and was probably first performed ten days later at the premiere of L’Allegro, il Penseroso ed il Moderato on 27th February at the theatre in Lincoln’s Inn Fields.
