Krieger Complete Organ & Keyboard Works II
J. Krieger and J.P. Krieger: Works from Copied Sources; Works of Uncertain Authenticity

From about the mid-1860s, as Bach research gradually got underway, performers and scholars became increasingly aware of a number of composers from the German-speaking countries who could be regarded as important forerunners of Bach and Handel.  From central Germany the Krieger brothers (Johann Philipp Krieger 1649-1725 and Johann Krieger 1651-1735) fall into this category.

Our new edition of the Complete Organ and Keyboard Works falls into two volumes: Volume 1 contains Johann Krieger’s printed works in order of publication; Volume 2 includes all those compositions by the Krieger brothers surviving in manuscript.

- Scholarly-critical practical edition in two volumes

- Urtext edition based on the latest research

- With a detailed preface (Ger/Eng), Critical Report (Ger) and bibliography (Ger/Eng)
