Handel Anthems for Cannons III (Full Score, hardback)
In 1717 Handel was appointed composer-in-residence at Cannons in Middlesex, seat of James Brydges, Earl of Carnarvon who became the first Duke of Chandos in 1719. Whilst there Handel composed a series of anthems using texts from the Psalms, commonly called the Chandos Anthems, for use in church service.
