The second volume of 50 National Songs follows the very successful first volume.  The simple but imaginative and musically informed arrangements of the best-known folk songs for two, possibly three voices are written to suit virtually all wind instruments playing in the violin clef and thus other soprano instruments.  A variety of instrumental combinations are possible.  The scoring for recorders indicated in the notes is only one of many solutions to using this songbook for ensemble playing at the elementary level.
